The Ultimate Guide to Smart Home Lighting

  • June 12, 2019 /

For the past few weeks we have been working on a Complete Smart Home guide. This is going to include all sorts of topics from what is a smart home and go as in depth as giving pricing on different smart home products.

One of the topics we are going to cover, Smart Home Lighting.

Over the past few years, I have seen smart home lighting increase as an area of interest for consumers. Phillips Hue is a big part of this increased interest. The question is, is that the right product for you.

This guide give that answer to a lot of people that are wondering. This will also open your eyes to a lot of the other interesting topics happening in the smart home lighting world!

A quick summary of this video if you don’t have time to watch (although I do think its worth it).

  1. There are three main smart home options; smart switches, smart bulbs and panelized lighting.
  2. For 80-90% of people Smart Switches are the best option
    1. Make sure the switches can work in three and four way scenarios (I am not sure I mentioned this in the video)
    2. Wifi is good but it can be flawed, especially if your Wifi network is not top notch.
  3. Circadian Rhythm lighting is hear and I think its interesting. We see it in phones, laptops and other light sources, how will this effect the home.
  4. Smart Light Strips are great for behind TVs, bars, kitchens and movie theaters. Definitely don’t forget these!

Those are the main topics for now but stay tuned for the rest of the series. We don’t currently have a URL or a page for the course but if you’re interested email me at henryj21@digihm.com. This will get you included on the early bird special (which will likely mean free for the first 50 people to sign up).

Have a great day!
